CREATING A WORLD COMMUNITY

A world that works for everyone

I participated in the first formal event of Creating A World Community this morning at il caffe latee in Harlem, New York city. The event was posted a day earlier on this site. Although I cannot give credit to anyone coming as a result of the notice, I shared the event and its purpose with one of the regular customers whom I recently befriended. We conversed on a number of subjects including the proprietor's nationality that I had mistakenly understood was Vietnamese but turns out she is from Korea. We also discussed our hopes and expectations that the local community is progressing mainly in regard to its residential and commercial appeal, although the later is developing much slower. My friend really likes it here. I explained that I liked it as well but that I wanted to travel back to Tanzania where I found the people particularly gratuitous and peaceful. I told her that I kind of want to maintain New York as a base. It was also great to meet a new server from Senegal. He happened to know a friend of mine who is also Senegalese but has left New York to get married and raise his son in Milwaukee. I have scheduled another discussion event for tomorrow.
