CREATING A WORLD COMMUNITY

A world that works for everyone

No one country has everything they need to survive.  All country’s buy goods and services from other countries.  I can guarantee you; there are no rubber plantations in the U.S.  But go to Vietnam, and there they are.

The business world is changing, going to an office 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, may not be an option for a significant percentage of the world population soon. Unemployment and downsizing are already high.  What are you going to do?  You are going to be doing the same thing you were doing at an office, only from home, on the Internet.  Offering, or supporting a product or service.  What you lose at the office is significant.  You lose all the business architecture you once had, such as how to sell a product or service, ordering office supplies, timesheets, formal reports of your work, birthday parties, retirement parties, etc.  The list is very long.

This isn’t just happening in “Your neck of the woods”  It is worldwide, as the economy has always been, only before the Internet, it was done by politicians over the telephone.  Now it is done over the Internet, by anyone who wants to get involved, or work from home, and still by politicians.

It used to be you went to work, get paid, and went home for the weekend.  Your pay came from profits the company made in sales or services rendered.  You had benefits, taxes taken out, medical coverage, etc.  If you work online; now your salary comes from other people, big difference from how you got paid at the office.  No benefits.  Not to worry there are group medical plans out there to purchase, you can write off college, and other expenses.

How you work with these people who are paying your salary is extremely important, but that is another story, for another day.

You wanna get involved?  Start part time, before you get laid off from your job.  Don’t ignore the opportunity to make friends in other countries.  They can be your gateway to success.

Get out of the Office frame of reference, “How are sales going at my company?” and embrace the new Internet world of work Frame of Reference:  “Who can I make friends with today?” or “Who can I help today?”

Listen closely to people from other countries and pick-up on cultural differences as you speak to them.  Don’t be afraid to ask questions, they are probably not familiar with your culture.  Just to name a few, the British, Australians, Russians, Polish, have super personalities; don’t hesitate to talk with them.  Eastern Europe is no longer that scary land of Communism it once was.

Get out in the world, via the Internet, and share your experiences and expertise with others.  They will reciprocate and all your efforts will balance out in a successful direction.

This is an extraordinary piece of writing.  I agree with everything you have stated. We need to start viewing ourselves more as a world community and less so as my neighborhood, my community, my state and my country.  We are so very independent with one another, today and that is growing.  Thank God for the internet that has made it possible for all of to expand ourselves and learn from each other.
