Foster Gamble, author and executive producer of the documentary film
entitled Thrive falls short of answering the question he poses. 

He leaves out the one primary and essential element that is necessary for individuals and for a society to
thrive.

There is also a flaw in the Liberty world model perspective he lays out. He states:

"In a thriving society, no one is allowed to violate anyone else, except in self defense."
(emphasis provided)

World Wars and most conflict are fought and justified on the basis of nations and people insisting they
are defending themselves, their actions or particular viewpoints.   There is no reality to self defense.  
It exists solely in the minds, and perceptions of the beholder. 

Deepak Chopra comes close in the film to to answering the question.  He states:

"In order to heal the world, we have to start telling a different story to ourselves.  We have to
start engaging in a different story with others.  It our collective story that manifest as the world."

The essential element and activity that remains to answer Mr. Gamble's question, and in fact achieving the
utopia that he describes is possible, and sooner rather than later in my view, is a conversation or
conversations that are not necessarily required to be based on past or even present experiences for that matter.  They
are conversations that start out from emptiness, and perhaps even meaningless that inquire into
what's possible and what works.
