Good Babies and Bad Babies

My baby daughter (that is not her in the picture) is 11 months old today and I suddenly became present to something I had not realized or given much attention prior to about 6 months ago; and that was after having raised two other daughters who are now adults.

I became present to the fact that there are no “bad” babies. You know, those…

Age of Information, Looking for an Answer

The Information Age is an exact and accurate description of this time in history.

I just got back from a book fair in Harlem, New York. There must have been over 100 authors displaying, promoting and selling their publications. Many of them handed me their business cards and fliers summarizing their stories and documentaries. When I got home, I opened my computer as usual and took note of the vast amount of information on the Internet.… Continue

My Wealth Expanding

I believe building personal wealth is one of the most essential elements in creating a world that works for everyone. The following presents a powerful means to that end.

It was around mid-2005, I came to the realization I was not going to create wealth or financial freedom with a JOB; a good income, perhaps, a great income, rarely, but not wealth. In fact,…

Let's Get On With It

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness, concerning all acts of initiative (and creation); there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner or unforeseen incidents, meetings, and material… Continue

Dogmas and Sciences

I wrote the following in response to a gentleman who e-mailed me earlier today.

Dear______

Thank you very much for your response to my note.

I am being careful replying back in the interest of not being "Right" about what I have to say. I…

Race Demystified

A battle lost or won is easily described, understood, and appreciated, but the moral growth of a great nation requires reflection, as well as observation, to appreciate it. (Frederick Douglas)

Simply, the most extraordinary, consequential and timely treatise I have ever read, and an essential quality in the Creating A World Community conversation as I view it. See… Continue

Happy Friendship Day--Where have I been?

I learned of Friendship Day, today. I do not recall ever hearing about it until I saw people twittering about this afternoon. It is the most frequent trending topic as I write this post.

My quick research informs me that Friendship Day may in fact be International Friendship Day which takes place the first Sunday of August every year. I understand the United States Congress proclaimed it in 1935. My best source of information at this time is… Continue

Obama, Crowley and Gates Meet at White House—A possible scenario

President Obama promptly and enthusiastically greeted his close friend Skip Gates and Sgt. Crowley at The White House with a big smile and firm handshake, Thursday evening. He thanked each for coming.

Professor Gates appeared a little uncomfortable. The President and Crowley seemed quite relaxed, their cheeks a little flushed. The President had just finished drinking a couple of beers with one of his aids and Crowley had a couple just before his arrival at the bar in the… Continue

What Am I Doing?

Earlier today, I responded to two questions.

One question was what are some of the things I am doing and will be doing to create a World Community and secondly what can each of us do.

What I am doing and will continue to do is advancing the Creating A World Community vision as I have defined it. That is a world that works for each and every person. I will… Continue

Grieving

My mother, Gladys Carter, passed away late last month.

Her life was celebrated in memoriam the Fourth of July weekend. I realize the Fourth was one of her most cherished holidays; another was Memorial Day. My mother was a very proud World War II Veteran you see, and in that regard, she frequently wore a banner that read, "Nothing More To Prove" although she demanded her story and the stories of the other Black Women who were the first and only "African… Continue

Man In The Mirror

"Man In The Mirror"

by Michael Jackson

I'm Gonna Make A Change,

For Once In My Life

It's Gonna Feel Real Good,

Gonna Make A Difference

Gonna Make It Right . . .

As I, Turn Up The Collar On My

Favourite Winter Coat

This Wind Is Blowin' My Mind

I See The Kids In The Street,

With Not Enough To Eat

Who Am I, To Be Blind?

Pretending Not To See

Their Needs

A Summer's Disregard,

A Broken… Continue

Man In The Mirror

Face In The Mirror

LATELY, WE HAVE seen a flood of hate crimes. A white supremacist walks into the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and guns down a guard. An anti-abortion fanatic murders a doctor who provided women with unwanted and sometimes life-threatening pregnancies.

The list goes on, including violence against young women and others who dare to speak their minds in Iran. Hate and intolerance seem to spew forth from every corner, and there… Continue

Health Care Reform-It's Simple

Recently, while visiting Capitol Hill, I was asked by United States Congressman Bobby Scott what my idea was in regard to health care reform in this country. I stumbled over the question, realizing how enormously the system is broken and the complexity of the issues involved in addressing the difficulties people have with access, costs and quality. In my attempt to refocus on the Congressman’s question, I was able to edge in a word or two about how I felt the only way for the… Continue

JUDGMENT versus understanding

Passing judgment, perhaps, is the single most egregious human act that limits the best of relations we can have with one another. If we were to respect, and in fact honor the choices of others, perhaps we could get to a place of understanding. Consider the extreme example that follows:

If one were to take the life… Continue

A Major Advance In Nevis

That's the new Sunshines Bar and Grill under construction in early 2008

My wife and I want to report a major advance at our home away from home in Nevis, West Indies.

Recently several large geothermal reservoirs were successfully tapped for energy production there. In fact, it is estimated that the reservoirs will produce some 50 megawatts of electricity with only 20% of that required by itself and its sister island… Continue

My Acai Berry Testimony

I started drinking an Acai berry nutraceutical dietary supplement, named AIO about three weeks ago.

On Saturday while visiting a doctor for a check up, my blood pressure reading was 123/70. Normally, with my medication it is about 140/85.

Then, yesterday, while walking back from a restaurant in New York City with my wife, I realized my arthritic knees have not been hurting for a least a week. I had not even thought about my knees until yesterday. I told my… Continue

I AM AWAKE

After trying 5, yes 5 different network marketing businesses over the past four years, I recently realized I was missing something. I got sick and tired of listening to corporate calls every single week and hearing leaders report having 100's and even thousands of people in their down lines. Were they lying? Buying people? What was it?

Three weeks ago, I found out the secret. It is first branding oneself; having one's own proven marketing system and designing it… Continue

Visit to The White House, Cinco de Mayo

In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, I was invited to the White House last night by The President and Mrs. Obama.

I arrived about 4:45PM before the event that was scheduled to start at 5:00PM. (Don’t be late for White House events I learned. They start on time). My first stop was the bathroom after checking my coat in… Continue

Evidence of World Community "And Then Some"

This afternoon, I saw evidence of a World Community, at least that is what I made of it.

I admit a World Community is a matter of interpretation. Some will see what I am about to describe as just a mere coincidence or luck. Others will say it was just one person assisting another. I and many others perhaps, will say that it was a spiritual intervention and oneness that occurred.

What I experienced was my 50 some year old cousin grabbing a hold of the back of… Continue
